CASE STUDIES - THE GRID, INC.

This new material combination allows for seam sealing and specialty construction that has unparalleled stretch and recovery, bonding strength, as well as a super low profile for a very clean finish and comfort. Designed by Mark Machado, president of The Grid, Inc. in collaboration with materials, engineering, and mechanical experts.

Besides obvious advantages to consumers is the fact that The Grid Seal is fully automatable process which not only saves time on the production floor in terms of stand hour cost impact, it also increases consistency and quality control that simply can not be matched by any of the more labor intensive methods of hand applying seam seal products.

The Grid Seal utilizes only the best materials to achieve the results. Yamamoto® rubber, Special PU adhesive, and a proprietary process of combining, laminating, and finishing these materials into a seam tape as well as die cut pieces and sheet stock that can be used in thousands of ways and in many industries. The Grid Seal is also compatible with virtually any hot air, platen press, ultrasonic, or heat roll machinery. Custom widths, dies, rollers, guides, and pre-tensioners may also be used to customize the application and tailor to various materials and needs. This permanent application provides flexibility strength, durability, waterproofing, and is resistant to saltwater, UV, and chlorine.
